I noticed something odd

I picked up my 2023 ABS model and had her fired up for the first time at the dealer. Everything sounded sweet, but I noticed the ABS light was on, it kinda threw me off, anyone know if that's normal before the ride actually starts?

From what I know, it's pretty normal for the ABS light to stay on until you start rolling. Once you get moving a bit, it should go off. If it stays on after you've been riding, then you might want to check it further.

That makes sense, thanks! I didn't get a chance to ride it yet, so I'll keep an eye on it once I do.

It should be normal for the ABS light to be on before you start riding. Once you get moving, it should turn off. If it stays on while riding, then there might be an issue. better to seek dealer assistance

I didn't get far enough for the ABS to reset, so I'll take it out for a spin today and see if it turns off

Good call! It's totally normal for the ABS light to stay lit until you get the bike moving a bit. Once those wheel sensors sense some action, that light should go out. Fingers crossed one of your rides proved that. It sounds like you're in the clear

Yes it's normal... My KLR650 does the same thing every time I start it up. Light stays on until I run it for a couple of feet and then it disappears right away.
